There is a long and distinguished history of wine writing. We hope to continue that tradition by finding and publishing the most interesting and relevant articles about wine. We offer $20-50 for blog posts that help our audience learn about storing and enjoying wine. Payments for articles are only made if the article is approved. They are not considered to be commissioned pieces; each article is evaluated separately. $20 for basic articles, $30 for in depth gift guides, $40 for detailed wine pairing guides, $50 for highly technical articles.

Before pitching to High Country Magazine, ensure that you are a strong writer with a unique idea or perspective. To avoid cliches you must study their NAJA HCN bingo board. You can write on various topics like reportage and news analysis, features, essays, perspectives, and op-eds, reviews, and more.

If you need help choosing a topic for your article, please reach out and request some examples. Wine Enthusiast Magazine welcomes pitches from freelance writers, but full manuscripts on spec are discouraged. A pitch only needs to be one paragraph, and it should be accompanied by materials that demonstrate the submitter’s qualifications to write that particular piece.

Do extensive proofreading by using grammar checking platforms to avoid errors in spelling, delivery, and tone. We love shouting about the great brands we work with. You want consumers to fall in love with your brand and we can write the love letters that whet their appetite.
